Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988) by Daniel L — 10 Jan 2015
After the surprisingly good "Dream Warriors" the "Nightmare" franchise continues with the forth installment "The Dream Master". Unfortunately, the film decides to go more comedic then scary, comedic for actual jokes/one-liners and in terms of quality film making.
Lisa Wilcox was above average and Tuesday Knight replaced Patricia Arquette and did an acceptable job. The rest of the cast is average to below average. The main problem is the writing (what a shocker).
There's too much comedy in the film yet not enough scary. Someone turns into a cockroach and the dog pees fire, need I say more?
