Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) by Luke V — 12 Mar 2015
Okay the franchise continues ever on with the return of some of the elements that were successful in the first film.
Wes Craven adds his creative talents behind the camera that were missing in part 2.
Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) the second most central character from the first film returns now a grown up expert on sleep disorders (quite literally).
The action switches from the house on Elm Street that was the central location of parts 1 and 2 to a psychiatric ward for teenagers suffering from sleep nightmares.
The patients share nightmares involving old Freddie Kreuger the burned guy with the brown hat, striped jumper and razor tipped right hand.
John Saxon returns as Thompson the cop in the first film who is Nancys father as a drunken security guard.
The film was still made long before CGI ruined films but still has effects that suffice today.
Look out for a young looking Larry Fishburne as a hospital nurse.
All in all a slight improvement on part 2.
