Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987) by Darrin C — 17 Jan 2015
"Its now or never. I'm not gonna kid you, this is as dangerous as it gets. If you die in this dream its for real. Nobody has to go in that doesn't want to".
As big as a mess that the second film was, director Chuck Russell steps in and saves the franchise with a fantastic sequel. Yes the title to the film is awful (Seriously, Dream warriors?) But it actually is interesting. The acting to the film is really good heather langenkamp does great returning as Nancy, her role makes 100% sense and she was really good. Robert Englund is once again as Freddy, both being scary and giving lots of funny lines. Patricia Arquette does great for her first role and everybody else did a great job and seemed like they were having a blast, something that the second film didn't have. Its dialogue is smart and witty and is a lot of fun. The dreams and all the effects are incredibly creative, cool and while it does go really over the top at times, it has a reason for it. Out of the main 6 films, Dream Warriors is the best of the sequels, and while at times the performances are stiff, its a fun ride. I'll give the 3rd film an 8.6/10.
