I know a lot of people hate this movie because its not like the original series and Freddy is played differently. I was skeptical as well but I think I like this version of Freddy, just as much, if not more than his Robert Englund counter part.
Jackie Earle Haley plays a (in my opinion) much darker Freddy, which I consider to be a good thing. Personally I find this movie to be a lot scarier than I ever did the original.
