Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) by Daniel K — 14 Feb 2014
I think all the elements were there, I just thought it was a really shitty script with really bad dialogue. too much of a carbon copy of the original. the only that really changed was the actor and 25 years later they were able to do what was originally intended and that is make freddy a child molester.
I thought the make up looked good, was supposed to resemble what an actual burn victim would look like. I like jackie earl haley. the special effects for the dream sequences were wicked. overall it just wasn't a very good delivery.
the voice overs for when freddy is talking I thought was really obnoxious and just didn't work. and then the identical scenes from the original...if you're going to duplicate it like that, then whats the point at all? I liked it the first time I seen it in theaters, but thats just cause I'm like a little kid in a candy store when it comes to my favorite franchises.
..I also liked freddy vs jason at first in the theaters....but after a few more viewings at home I realized how much I actually hated it.
