Wasn't as bad as people said it was. I found it quite gritty, and thought that incorporating new ideas (i.e. micronaps) made it more of it's own film. Haley was very good in his role as the infamous Freddy.
he played him very dark and creepy. I found myself genuinely afraid for the teens.
