Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Morgan H — 30 Oct 2012
The premise alone is one of the scariest ideas ever committed to celluloid; that in our dreams, where we are absolutely helpless, a boogieman waits to make sure we never wake up. That aforementioned boogieman is Freddy Krueger, a burnt-faced child murderer with a razor glove, makes the movie all the more scary.
Well-acted and stylishly directed, this is one of the better horror movies of the 20th century from a master of his medium.
