Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Sahara K — 06 Nov 2012
This took me a while to get into. It did however, get me to watch it with the introduction scene and the first attempt to kill. Compared to the remake which I watched previously I found it to be not as focused on the group of the main kids, instead focusing more on the character Nancy, as the others in this film died pretty quickly and I think it would have been nice if they had a tad bit more interaction or character development.
Even so, they did work well together. What made it somewhat creepier was how they portrayed the Krueger character as more childish in the way he taunts Nancy, like when he was after Glen by saying to her 'I am your boyfriend now' and turning into her phone.
The special effects also made it more horrific. Overall a good film, if you have seen the remake or any of the other films in the series, you should see this to know how it all began.
