The best movie of the series but my fave was always the fourth. Actually scary and has a lot of effective effects. Probably the best thing that Wes Craven has ever done or ever will do. Still it is the pinnacle of 80's horror franchises and Freddy Krueger is a memorable villain right up there with Dracula and the Frankenstein monster, he did get comedically savvy .
This series ruled the 80's and many weekend nights.
