Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Jez M — 10 May 2013
Like all of the best slasher movies, A Nightmare On Elm Street is a cautionary tale at heart. Wes Craven's luridly imaginative portrayal of kids being haunted by the 'sins of the father', the garish imagery and unsettling score more than make up for some occasionally hammy acting.
Not quite the equal of Halloween, but still one of the best horror films of the decade.
