Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Jeremy K — 13 Feb 2014
While not the best slasher movie in the world, it succeeds in being unique for it's time, and remains very entertaining. I would have liked it to have been a bit scarier, but it does make you think before you go to sleep.
The cinematography is pretty good, but nothing memorable, the actors are all decent, but again, nothing memorable (except for Robert Enguland, who is the heart and soul of this movie), including a young Johnny Depp.
The music is good, and the film is suspenseful, but the plot is a bit confusing at the end. Overall, it's a fun film to watch, and it's a must-see for horror and slasher fans.
