Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Everett W — 26 Aug 2015
A Nightmare on Elm Street was the film that frightened me awake as a child. I first watched this film when I was aged about six, under the watchful supervision of a dim witted babysitter that believed I had permission to watch it.
It terrified me but fascinated me I watched it and feared it regularly after that even going as far as to hide the VHS behind nicer videos in the hope Freddy wouldn't get me. Sadly as with most Horror nuts my senses have been jaded over time and the film no longer has such impact, however it will always hold a special place for me, I know the sequels never reached these highs but Freddy was a an 80's icon and along with WWF Wrestling and time travelling DeLoreans he was a huge contributor to my childhood Saturdays.
A Horror Masterpiece .
