Still unnerving to this day, A Nightmare on Elm Street combines a chilling kopophobic twist from Wes Craven with a masterfully horrifying performance from Robert Englund as the nightmare-invading Freddy Krueger to produce mind-boggling fear that has yet to be broken by modern genre efforts.
