Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Eric P — 26 Oct 2016

A lot of people probably aren't going to like this opinion but here it is. I think this is like a mixture of Goonies (in that I probably would have liked this more if I had seen this at a younger more impressionable age) and Top Gun (I grew up on all the spoofs and pop culture references so I practically feel like I already saw it). I'm stuck in that perfect sweet spot of this film just not working for me as well as it could have. Plus I just don't get that ending on any level and frankly feel kind of cheated.

Still all those issues aside I have to admit it's an impressive film for its time and I see why it began a franchise.
