Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Bradley P — 30 Apr 2017
A terrifying piece of cinema, A Nightmare on Elm Street blurs the lines of reality and dreams which creates a film that operates on a psychological level. Elm Street is not only a body-count film, the story of Freddy makes for an interesting tale of morality as it questions what a community would do in the gut-wrenching situation of having a child murderer released on a technicality.
Nightmare is gory at spots, but it never seems excessive or forced. A truly frightening film that is a landmark in the slasher genre.
