Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Shawn B — 20 Nov 2012
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is one of the best slashers ever made, and is easily the best slasher of the 80's. It has everything that a fan of the genre could possiably want. An original story, good acting, a creepy music score, etc.
But perhaps the best thing about this incredible movie is Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger. He brings to life this monster like know one else could. He gives us a character that is nothingless than pure evil. A character that is easily one of the scariest monsters in slasher movie history(behind only Michael Myers). He may turn into a comedian in the sequels, but here he is a monster that can use your worst fears agianst you.
This movie is definately Wes Craven at his best(though Scream is a close second for me). And is a most see for any real horror fan, or real movie fan in general.
