Review of A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) by Connor D — 07 Jun 2015
"Nightmare on Elm Street" is the beginning of a familiar horror franchise and a household name. It tells of a group of teenagers who begin having the same man appearing in their dreams, and whatever this man does to them in their dreams is actually happening in real life. The only way for them to survive is by not falling asleep. But you can't stay awake forever, and when you eventually fall asleep, Freddy's coming for you.
This film is a classic when it comes to the horror genre. Wes Craven made the 80s special with this original story of true horror. What makes this film terrifying is that these kids literally can't escape this man. They can't stay awake forever, and anytime they fall asleep Freddy will be waiting. Along with a great cast and crew, there isn't much to complain about with this film.
If you're a horror fan and somehow haven't seen "Nightmare on Elm Street," definitely watch this one. 7.9/10.
