I was really surprised by this film. I expected it to be a cheesy romcom with all the accompanying tropes, but it was not even close.

The protagonist, though somewhat shallow, is sympathetic and interesting. The story is not what you'd expect. It delves into social issues facing homosexual couples in today's world as well as the issues one faces when making rash, life-changing decisions, and handles them carefully and thoughtfully.

As to the negatives: the camera work is garbage, and it seems like they opted not to hire a quality sound engineer. Several scenes that should use a dolly cam or at least a solid tripod are clearly done by hand, and you can see significant shake where there should be none. All the dialogue sounds like it was recorded in a hallway, and the ambient sounds you'd expect to be filtered out in favor of clean voice recording are obnoxious.

The actress who plays the adult counterpart to the protagonist seems to be yelling all her lines, but really seems connected to the protagonist. I think they could've chosen a better actress, but if the sound issues were resolved, it would've been less of a problem.

I'd love to see this film remade with a couple of casting changes, some script updates, and a significantly higher budget.
