Review of A Most Wanted Man (2014) by Usman S — 20 Aug 2014
A very competent thriller, elevated hugely by Phillip Seymour Hoffman's flawless performance. A few wandering accents and a Rachel McAdams horrible casting aside (really? is it that hard to find an actress who can be a convincing German?) the movie moves very well through the acts and delivers a compelling ending.
The movie keeps a swifter pace and is a bit simpler, in terms of script movements, than the brilliant but patience testing "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy". A fine farewell to Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
