Review of A Most Wanted Man (2014) by Seth L — 05 Aug 2014
A MOST WANTED MAN is -- to me -- a fantastic vehicle for Rachel McAdams whose performance as the "social worker for terrorists" stands out among some fine acting by the late Philip Seymour Hoffman (Gunter) and Grigoriy Dobrygin (Issa) and others.
The story is straight-forward and somewhat -- unfortunately -- dragged out longer than need be. Still the ending is gut-wrenching, making you feel sitting through the film was worth your time and the effort involved in understanding Mr.
Hoffman, whose speech is garbled now and then. His great "fuck" near the end of the movie is wonderful. This one you can see in your living room; it is so intimate.
