Review of A Most Wanted Man (2014) by Dolores H — 05 Aug 2014

The film could have been so much better. it reminded me of movies like Tinker Taylor Solider Spy, The International, Closed Circuit, and Body of Lies just to name a few. On a negative, the pacing is off. Also Rachel McAdams was miscast. They should have casted another actress in her role, like Naomi Watts. I thought the implied romance with her character didn't fit with the movie.

Hoffman is excellent and the best reason to see the film. I am still saddened about his death this year. This is another example of a great performance by him. He has a solid supporting cast with Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright, and Daniel Bruhl.

I would say, see the film for Phillip Seymour Hoffman's performance.
