Review of A Most Wanted Man (2014) by Steven B — 11 Aug 2014
I think it is probably impossible to make a really great movie base on a John le Carre novel; they are just to cumbersome to translate to the screen. However this one comes as close as possible. The Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone were there in force and all of us enjoyed seeing Hoffman in his last big role and he probably will be nominated for awards for this one.
Rachel McAdams manages to get through the movie in the tightest pants I've seen in years (Q. How do you get into those? A. You could start by buying me a drink. Old joke.) The supporting cast is all great but Robin Wright with a short black hair cut is a scene stealer.
All in all a great suspense movie and an opportunity to see a master actor in his last role.
