A Most Wanted Man is tense in the quietest way imaginable. This is a spy movie with only brief moment that could be called an "action scene," relying on the intrinsic mistrust of the genre to generate thrills.
While patience is dearly required, the film rewards it, and PSH's low-key and subtly funny performance carries the film deftly.
