Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Kace C — 05 Feb 2015
A most underwhelming movie. So much potential. Just doesn't add up to much. Oscar Isaac once again delivers an amazing performance in a bland, boring movie. Him and Jessica Chastain are the best thing about this-both are at the top of their game.
Unfortunately the material just couldn't hold my interest for the duration. Don't expect Goodfellas, or even American Hustle. You know the boring part of organized crime about the business dealings and paperwork that they leave out of every gangster movie? This movie is pretty much two hours of that.
