Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Patrick K — 28 Jan 2015
This is an excellent 1980's New York set crime thriller set around a time when New York was rampant with crime. Abel Morales (Oscar Isaac) and his wife Anna (Jessica Chastain) are try to capitalise of the benefits the American dream can afford them but the violence, decay and corruption of their surroundings threaten to pull the rug from under them.
Its a slow burner thats for sure and its not for everybody but its structured so well as a film and the acting from Isaac and Chastain are on point and makes it a compelling and entertaining watch.
