Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by James W — 31 Jan 2015
If you like a realistic thriller - you've found it. Normally I'm a harsh critic of films. Jessica Chastain is quickly becoming my favourite actor. J C Chandor takes us through a trying ordeal with minimal cinematic technics.
A basic thriller we are paid off with a realistic tale of the human condition. Strong straight forward performances by Oscar Isaac and others. It's early 2015, but I see an Oscar for Jessica Chastain.
Best Supporting Actor. She has consistently chosen roles which demonstrate a new age for strong female roles.
