Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Alex T — 13 Feb 2015
Skilfully directed, with tremendous performances from Oscar Isaac, Albert Brooks and the wonderful Jessica Chastain, but this film feels more like a plodding non-event more than a slow-burning crime thriller, I'm afraid to say.
Nevertheless, you do stay with the story, although are left feeling it could've been so much better, and asking whether you really care enough.
