With two gripping performances at its centre from Oscar Isaacs and Jessica Chastain, A Most Violent Year is like a slow train wreck, devistating to watch but also facinating in damage that unfolds so you just can't look away.
Nothing is spelled out, nothing is straightforward, instead we are given a twisted conspiracy of a caliber we rarely get to see any more.
