Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Tey Z — 01 Dec 2015
A superb subversive "gangster" film. Forget every single cliched gangster tropes in existence. Grossly underrated. Isaac and Chastain owns the screen. Ironic, it took a "gangster" film to show us even when surrounded and exposed to violence, one can still make the "most right" choice.
Great art direction bringing the gritty 80's New York to life. Not to mention the creeping yet effective soundtrack.
