Review of A Most Violent Year (2014) by Thomas A — 09 Jan 2016
Despite the title, there is hardly any excessive violence in this film. I like the way the suspense is kept high without having to resort to Godfather-type gory violence that often plagues stories about recent immigrants in NYC pursuing the American dream.
Also, the main protagonist Abel Morales (Oscar Isaac) has an ambiguous personality that keeps you guessing whether or not he is actually a good guy or a bad guy.
