Review of A Monster in Paris (2011) by Adriano B — 03 Jul 2013
It starts so so, with a lot of promising ideas, but an amateurish plot (too many characters at once, some twists that could be just-a-little-more-interesting, lackluster humour), and doesn't cling till the last quarter, but then things get really better.
It shines where Paris is shown more, with a cartooney and charming depiction, and less when the centerpiece are the chara, unfortunately caged in woody cgi: a shame, given the beauty of the original concept artwork shown during the credits.
Watch it in French to not compromise its style: I still want to see more, le kids are growing.
