Review of A Monster Calls (2016) by Eagleeyeviking — 16 Jun 2017
While some plot elements are heavy handed and don't contribute much to the plot, J.A. Bayona's A Monster Calls is a haunting, necessary, and introspective dissection and exploration of grief that uses fantastical elements to illustrate complex emotions.
Much of the film is open to interpretation, which is what makes it special.
