Review of A Monster Calls (2016) by Rebecca31 — 23 Dec 2016
I just spent the last hour and 50 minutes watching a child talk to a giant tree voiced by Liam Neeson and it was the most imaginative and heart-breaking movie I've seen all year. A young boy calls upon a monster to help cope with his mother's illness.
Starring Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones and Lewis MacDougall. Superb performances particularly from Lewis, acting just doesn’t get any better than that. Despite the stunning visuals and stories in this movie it's not exactly suitable for young children and a tough watch at times for everyone else but it's flawless, original and highly recommended.
