A downer of a watch but a neat idea.

It's not the easiest thing to view on an emotional level but it goes beyond what other coming-of-age flicks have done before.

Stories are wild creatures indeed; if you let them loose there's no telling how much havoc they cause.

Newcomer Lewis MacDougall is brilliant as Conor whose mother is slowly dying so he conjures up a giant tree creature to sooth the pain.

The Monster voiced by Liam Neeson tells Conor 3 stories of wonder and there happens to be a 4th only Conor can finish by telling the truth.

Conor believes that belief is half of the healing process so he's wishing for things to get better from his mother to his parents being separated to his overbearing grandmother.

Not every person in a story has to be good or bad, some people just settle for the middle, and some twist of the truth has to exist.

Such dramatic acting, lots of emotion, and the fantasy sequences for the Monster telling the stories are a neat gem.

The last scene had me welling up because sooner or later we all have to learn to let go.

Love Liam Neeson, Felicity Jones, Sigourney Weaver, and MacDougall.
