Stories are wild creatures.

This is no exception and it's everything movies and storytelling needs to be. The coming of age story of a boy dealing with his mother's illness is told perfectly with the help of his friend. The end result is nothing short of moving. It's superbly acted, the young boy who played Conor O'Malley makes everything happen when it should. The visuals are amazing and I feel this is one of the best movies in the past decade. Don't let the title fool you, it isn't about a scary monster. although their is a monster it plays well in its role. Well worth a watch and you may want a tissue or two.
