A Monster Calls is a magnificent film of darkness and fantasy, grief and imagination. Director J.A. Bayona does a brilliant job with this film, everyone in the cast gives great-to-amazing performances, especially from Lewis MacDougall.
The animation and visuals are astounding to witness, and the script from the book's author himself is very impressive, combining heavy themes and emotion with pure imagination and depth. A Monster Calls is an emotional, engrossing and moving masterpiece and my favourite film of 2016.
