A very beautiful movie with top notch acting, J.A. Bayona has crafted one of the finest coming of age stories in years. Balancing the fantastical with the tragic in a haunting way it's a few tissues type of experience.
American audiences didn't take to it all mostly I believe because of it's sad subject matter and it is just a bit darker than advertised. Still, it ends as you'd expect it would but leaving you with a bit more bright than you'd expect.
