Lord... I think the book would be far superior if you were trying to help a kid. This was tough viewing for me. Felicity and the actor playing the son were amazing (the dad dreadful). The subject was tough, and you can hardly call it a go-see, but they handled the last part well.
Bizarre, but I see why it was created.
