Review of A Monster Calls (2016) by Late R — 28 Sep 2017
Incredible film that deserves more recognition and audience. The story may look to be a typical monster movie on the surface but underneath is a deeper story waiting to be told. This film wears its emotion proudly and the story slowly reveals characters in mourning and hurt.
This packs an emotional punch and is one of the best films of 2016, the turn off from the box office clearly shows audiences felt this to be another BFG clone. Not for the dry eye cloud, this emotionally fueled film never goes the sappy way.
