I watched this film because I will watch anything with Stanley Tucci. I wasn't expecting much, and was surprised to come across such a gem.

Grace Rhodes' biological clock is ticking and time is running out. As a single woman in New York City, she's having a hard time finding the perfect man and feels the need for something more fulfilling in her life to break her solitude. She, she finds the perfect solution, she decides to go for in vitro fertilization with an anoymous donor. Soon, she's pregnant, but that's not enough, she becomes obsessed with meeting the father in person. Stanley Tucci plays Peter Kessler, an artist who wants to hold onto his bachelor life when Grace Rhodes steps in. What follows is a beautiful, contemporary love story that could only be told our times of technology. A Modern Affair is a heart felt and unique version of the traditional boy meets girl love story. Highly recommended for a quiet evening in - or to convince a partner to have a child!!

Stanley Tucci and Lisa Eichhorn are both wonderful, by the way!
