Review of A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014) by Lancekoz — 15 Sep 2014
Hey, this movie basically sucked, and it was not because it was vulgar or politically incorrect or absurd or any of that... it just was not very funny. There were few jokes (many based on farts... puhleeze!), leaden dialog, simply thin writing.
I don't know much about McFarlane... he seems talented enough for this and was the director I believe... but it was surprisingly un-funny. The odd thing was that it was GORGEOUS to look at... the color, photography, props, the attention to period details.
.. marvellous. So I was left wondering why was all this talent and photography brought to bear on such a dog? With a few writing changes, they may've had a great serious Western.
