Review of A Mighty Wind (2003) by Jason F — 06 Mar 2008
Christopher Guest must have really enjoyed working on "This Is Spinal Tap", considering all the movies he directs are done in the same vein (not a bad thing, per say). A Mighty Wind is the "Spinal Tap" of folk music, an interesting blend of acoustics and comedy.
It's not a perfect comedy, some jokes fall flat, but overall it is clever in what it puts out. I never thought Eugene Levy was that great of an actor, but... shit! His acting in this is so good that I'd go so far as to have nominated him for a supporting actor Oscar.
If you found "This Is Spinal Tap" funny, you'll find this funny and probably all of Guest's films.
