This is a touchy subject for some im sure, given the fact that its based on a true story that only occured a few years ago. Some people may feel that its not right to make money from a movie that is about such a story, like some people are very against the movies made portraying what happened on 9/11, although I happen to think that this movie appeared to be quite well made. I thought that Angelina Jolie did particularly well with her portrayal of Marianne, someone who is clearly very affected (as you would be, if you were in her shoes, of course) by the disappearance of her husband, particularly due to the fact that she is pregnant, you can see how shocked and worried she is while also being fiercly determined to get Daniel back and to get to the bottom of what happened. She puts on a very brave face while dealing with everyone who's taken over her house in the hunt for her husband, while you also see scenes where her emotions get the better of her and I felt that Jolie did well portraying the different emotions of this character, plus her accent (as a Cuban-American who can also speak what I presume to be Pakistani(?)) was quite convincing too, so I thought that was good. The movie doesn't rocket along at a fast pace, it is more of a 'slow burner' so to speak but its quite interesting to see what information is gained at certain points and so its not an action movie but more a political drama in part. It was interesting to see the reaction of the local police and how things change throughout the movie and then the interviewer who records an interview with Marianne asking one or two insensitive questions, to put it that way. I thought that the movie was quite well made, although it is rather uncomfortable to watch in a couple of points. There isn't a great deal of violence in it but its more a case of knowing what its about and realising it is at least based on a true story that makes it quite intriguing, I suppose. There is at least one particular scene where strong language is used, so I wouldn't recommend the movie to younger people, though knowing the storyline you shouldn't be showing it to young people anyway of course but other than that, violence is mostly only suggested rather than graphically shown but it is still quite chilling.

This isn't a movie for everyone and I can understand why some people wouldn't want to watch it but if your curious about it then yes I would recommend it to you, as I think Jolie gives a good performance and its interesting to see how the story unfolds. It is quite emotional, so don't forget to bring some tissues ladies!.
