Review of A Man for All Seasons (1966) by Hans O — 03 Oct 2007
It's a filmed play, but what a filmed play! Scofield is perfect as an apparently sophisticated, easy-going member of the inner circle who takes a stand and will bend neither to the king's power nor to his charm.
The dialogue and the politics are captivating. Shaw is splendid. Welles is contained and all the better for it.A film for the mind as much as for the eye.
