Review of A Man Called Otto (2022) by Liamexe — 04 Mar 2023
A Man Named Otto is a melancholy comedy-drama with a few scary scenes. The stereotypical cranky old man, Otto (Tom Hanks), patrols his street in search of parking infractions and other infractions. He has a short fuse and doesn't like cordial approaches.
But, there are explanations for his grumpiness; we quickly find that he was forced into retirement after his wife passed away recently. Yet after meeting a new couple and their kids, he changes his behaviour grudgingly and on multiple instances refrains from taking drastic measures.
Even though he has sinister plans for his own destiny, he unintentionally saves a man who accidentally stumbles onto a railway track. This might have been a corny emotional movie.
