This is an outstanding movie. An allegori over the Vietnam War, in it's portrait of cultures crashing. The White Men did not defeat the Indians because they were better soldiers. They simply won because they had riffles and were cynical.
The Indians were bad ass soldiers. The warrior initiation scene in this movie is hardcore. Too tough even for the Jackass gang, I would guess. See the movie and you know what I mean. (Richard Harris is the man, or should I say Gentleman?).
