Review of A Man Apart (2003) by Paul P — 06 Jul 2007
Not a particularly bad film, just a totally average one....
The drug dealer / family revenge thing has been done so many times before and there is nothing present in this flick to set it apart from all of the others.
The action stuff is ok but nothing special and there is an attempt to make the story grittier by howing Vin's character go outside of the law but it's not particularly interesting.
The cast are mostly forgetable with a thankless role for Tim Olyphant as a dealer. This guy needs to be making better choices with the flicks that he chooses. Vin carries the flick pretty easily and he is always watchable but this is real paint by numbers stuff which prety much anyone could have been in.
