Review of A Love Song for Bobby Long (2004) by Larry M — 05 Apr 2007
I had heard bad things about this, but it was recommended by a friend, so I decided to give it a look-see, and I'm glad I did. Although it's nothing that hasn't been done before, I appreciated the performances by Travolta, Johansson, and Macht, and I think we should all see more of Deborah Kara Unger.
I loved her in The Salton Sea. Overall, this is a well-told story with interesting characters and beautiful New Orleans locations, that holds your interest most of the way. It's more fun when they're at each other's throats than when they start making nice, so it loses a little steam towards the end, but it's still a pretty good evening's entertainment.
