Review of A Love Song for Bobby Long (2004) by H-P K — 20 Feb 2009
A nice (maybe too nice) mood piece from the big easy. Travolta has a good turn as a excharismatic prof, and Scarlet is perhaps not beliavable but great in so many ways as a dropout. The directing is ambitiuos with great use of space as an indicator of inner feelings easygoing happines outside and cramped arguments and hangovers indoors, an important piece of self discovery and growth happens in a bus terminal while a whole day passes by.
