Review of A Lot Like Love (2005) by Stacy M — 15 Jan 2012
This movie is like a pair of jeans. The first time you wear it, it's a little tight but your ass looks nice. You like how you look, but you don't love it. After a few wears, it becomes your favorite because it's so damn comfortable! The characters are fun and sweet.
You find yourself very comfortable with them, and after you watch it a few times, you realize that they both grow over time. Some people claim there aren't any conflicts (besides the passage of time).
I disagree. They both go through the inner conflicts of figuring out who you are, where you want to be, and the limitations of reality. It's not meant to be this great, deep epic. It's a fun movie of two people that meet each other, form and maintain a friendship (despite the distance and the relationships that come and go), and discover a love there.
